Local historian and Morning Call contributor Evan Burian, and former Whitehall and Northampton football coach Andy Melosky are among the special guests on this week's Morning Call "Calling All Sports" television show.
It's the traditional Thanksgiving football show which always features Burian, author of several books documenting the history of Lehigh Valley sports.
The show airs at 8 tonight on Service Electric TV2 and at 6 tomorrow on RCN-4.
Evan talks about the games that were played 50 years ago on Thanksgiving, 1963, less than a week after the assasination of President John F. Kennedy.
Andy is asked how he would handle the situation that Catasauqua is facing this year of having to play two games in three days and chimes in with his memories of playing at Allentown High in the 1950s when the big rivalry was against Bethlehem, Melosky also coached in a variety of the local Thanksgiving Day rivalries.
Also joining the set is former Morning Call sports writer Marc Markowitz, who now goes by the name of Marc David and has written several entertaining books, including his latest "1,001 Things You Didn't Want To Know."
