Brian Deppe wins latest Groller-Zambelli Challenge

FROM KEITH GROLLER

I've often said that Brian Deppe knows what's going on around here better than most people who live here.
He kind of proved that this weekend when he won the fifth week of the Groller-Zambelli Challenge even though he lives in Charlotte, N.C.
Brian is an old friend. He has been on my radio show many times.
This is not the same Brian Deppe who is a multi-Kegger Award winner for being Allen High's super stat man during basketball season.
I believe they're related, however.
This Brian's father was a legendary Southern Lehigh baseball coach, Howard Deppe. Howard was an absolute gem of a guy.
In fact, the Howard E Deppe All-Star Baseball Classic, saluting the area's best high school seniors, was held for 28th time this past June at Limeport Stadium.
Brian is a big West Virginia fan and a staunch defender of all Mountaineers.
I am sure he is much more happy about WVU's win over No. 11-ranked Oklahoma State on Saturday than winning the Groller-Zambelli Challenge.
Brian, by the way, had eight of 10 correct in what I thought was another tough week of picks.
As for Week 6, here's a sneak peek at the games that you will be selecting:
Central Catholic at Liberty
Beth. Catholic at Whitehall (tiebreaker)
Parkland at Nazareth
Notre Dame at Southern Lehigh
Northern Lehigh at Pen Argyl
Lehighton at ES North
PM East at Pleasant Valley
ES South at Dieruff
Stroudsburg at Wyom Valley West
Hatboro at Quakertown
