If you're a Pennsylvania high school football fan, the one book you absolutely should have is the Pennsylvania Football News Resource Guide.
It is a thick, 389-page book chock full of information about Pennsylvania football.

The best thing about the book is the records it contains. Some of them came from the late Dr. Roger Saylor, a longtime Pennsylvania high school football historian who became the go-to guy for media across the state for years.
Dr. Saylor died recently in Florida, but his vast statistical work lives.
Among the pages and pages of data in the PFN guide are things like Pennsylvania's 500-win club.
Easton is still No. 2 in the state in all-time wins with 780 and seems to be gaining on Mount Carmel, the all-time leader with 813. Last year, Easton was 10-2 and Mount Carmel was 8-4.
The next highest win total among area teams with 558 is Catasauqua. By going 12-1 last year, the Roughies leapfrogged Liberty on the all-time local list. The Hurricanes went just 3-7 last year and now have 552 wins.
Nazareth and Allen are both in the 500-club. The Blue Eagles have 524 wins, the Canaries have 508. Nazareth's winning percentage is .610 and Allen's is .477.
When it comes to the state's winningest football coaches, the list starts with guess who?
1. George Curry 423
2. Jack Henzes, Jr. 371
3. Jim Render 364
4. Frank Pazzaglia 344
4. Jim Roth 340.
The most wins by a local coach were recorded by former Becahi and Phillipsburg coach Bob Stem. He had a career mark of 282-144-11.
He figures to be passed on the local wins list this year by Marian Catholic's Stan Dakosty, who has a record of 280-128-4.
The longtime Stroudsburg and current Easton assistant Fred Ross posted a record of 272-222-4.
Two other District 11 guys still racking up wins are East Stroudsburg South's Ed Christian, who is 236-133-3 and Parkland's Jim Morgans who is 225-130-1.
