http://sportsmediajournal.com/ CBS Sports Readies for College Football Kick-Off Notre Dame and Navy in Ireland- CBS Sports today announced its plans to cover the Notre Dame/Navy football opener this Saturday from Ireland. The CBS Sports Network will begin the day’s coverage with a pre-game show beginning at 7:00a.m. ET hosted by Adam Zucker and analysts Brian Jones, Houston Nutt, Aaron Taylor and reporter Bruce Feldman. Kick-off is at 9:00a.m. on CBS with Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Tracy Wolfson. Comedian Riggle To Join Fox NFL Sunday- Fox Sports announced yesterday that actor/comedian Rob Riggle will be joining the crew of the Fox NFL Sunday pregame show. Riggle will take over the comedic role on the show held previously by Frank Caliendo. Riggle is known for starring in the hit movie 21 Jump Street, as well as roles in The Hangover and Step Brothers. He’s also a former Saturday Night Live cast member and Daily Show correspondent, and recently hosted the 2012 ESPY Awards. Cardinals/Pirates On Wednesday Night Baseball- It’s a battle in the National League Central as the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Pittsburgh Pirates on ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball. Dave O’Brien, Nomar Garciaparra and Pedro Gomez have the call beginning at 7:00p.m. ET. ESPN Launches New College Football App- IOS and Android mobile devices can now take advantage of a new college football app developed by ESPN. The ESPN College Football app will provide up-to-the-minute video clip highlights of key plays from select games, customizable scoreboards and easy access to live games on WatchESPN. The app has enhanced content, including news, video and alerts for all 124 FBS schools. Fox to Televise College Football on Fox Deportes- Fox Sports announced today that it will telecast 17 college football games on its Fox Deportes Spanish language channel. Fox Deportes is set to present 14 regular-season college football games live in Spanish, primarily from the Pac-12 or Big 12 conferences, plus the Pac-12 and Big Ten Football Championship games and the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. The first game will air this Saturday as Hawaii takes on USC at 7:30p.m. ET. NASCAR Racing This Weekend on ESPN- ESPN will have coverage of the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series races this weekend from Atlanta Motor Speedway. Marty Reid, Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree call the Nationwide Series race Saturday at 6:30p.m. on ESPN2. Jarrett and Petree will join Alan Bestwick for the Sprint Cup race Sunday at 6:30p.m. on ESPN. New Golf Channel Series Looks at What it Takes to Make the Tour- The Golf Channel is producing a a nine-part series that will chronicle the stories of two men from opposite sides of the country and opposite sides of life as they attempt to realize their dream of competing on the PGA TOUR. Chasing the Dream, featuring golfers Chris Anderson and Robbie Biershenk, debuts October 2nd at 10:00p.m. ET.
