Rovell Rejoins ESPN

http://sportsmediajournal.com/ It was known for over a month that Darren Rovell would be leaving CNBC to rejoin ESPN, but it was formally announced by the WWL yesterday. Rovell will be the network’s business reporter in a multi-platform role — television, digital and ESPN Radio — and will also contribute to ABC News, including Good Morning America, World News with Diane Sawyer andNightline. . Rovell last worked for ESPN from 2000-2006. “While ESPN is known for games and highlights, it is also about helping fans win the battles at the office water cooler or at the kitchen table,” Rovell said in a press release. “You can’t be a great fan without understanding the intricacies of the sports business. I look forward to bringing viewers, readers and listeners the stories of what happens off the field and behind closed doors that fuels this massive industry.” “We’re pleased to welcome a respected sports business reporter like Darren back into the ESPN family” said John Wildhack, ESPN Executive Vice President, Production. “His particular expertise will strengthen our news gathering division, and provide fans the type of information they are accustomed to receiving from our varied platforms.”
