Fox and MLB announce earlier start time for Game 3 of the World Series

FROM KEITH GROLLER

A release just came out saying that Fox and Major League Baseball have agreed on what is basically at 7 p.m. start time for Game 3 of the World Series, which will be played in the American League city on Saturday, Oct. 30.

It's a start, but if these guys are serious about developing a new generation of baseball fans, all World Series games should start at 7 p.m., especially during the week when kids have to bed earlier. And then maybe kids can watch games to conclusion and still be able to stay awake in class the next day.

The release has some quotes about how nice it is for families to get together to watch these games at reasonable hours. How about more than just one game, guys, especially this is a Saturday game when kids aren't in school anyway?

The quotes:

“Starting the game earlier will allow more families to watch together,” said Chris Perry, vice president U.S. marketing, Chevrolet. “This fits perfectly with our commitment to baseball which stretches from youth teams across the country to MLB.”

“We’ve said over the years that if advertisers were willing to support earlier starts at prime time levels, we’d be able to begin games earlier,” said FOX Sports president Eric Shanks. “We’re excited to be working with MLB and Chevrolet, along with our FOX-owned stations and affiliates to make this happen.”

And here's the schedule:
