New Teachers Struggle to Find Jobs

The Morning Call has an article on the challenges faced by students graduating with teaching degrees in PA.

A job fair at Kutztown was reported on, and many schools at the fair, like Nazareth, were anticipating no job openings for the upcoming school year. Nazareth simply added a sign to their table in an effort to not waste students’ time.

The article notes that the PA State Schools regularly graduate more students with teaching degrees than there are openings. The recommendation was for these students to consider student teaching or moving to Virginia or Maryland where there was a higher demand for teachers.
