Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem plans to add 250 slots to its 3,000-slot facility instead of the previously planned 2,000 additional machines, casino officials announced today.

The extra machines will allow Sands customers more opportunities to play their favorite games, especially on the weekends when the Daly Avenue facility is most crowded, the company said in a statement. The 3,250 total slot machines will make Sands the state’s second largest casino, the statement noted.

“As we continue to ramp up the property, which has only been open for four months, we will continue to evaluate our need to add more machines,” the statement said.
Sands plans to debut the additional machines Nov. 22, the six-month anniversary of the casino’s opening. A Carnegie Deli and a gourmet hamburger restaurant owned by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, who also owns the casino’s steakhouse, and a new lounge also are scheduled to open Nov. 22.
