CRAIG BOARST INFORMATION

Craig M. Borst Craig M. Borst, 66, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in his home in Bethlehem. He and his wife, Darlene (Refsnider) Borst, celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in July. Born in Bethlehem, he was the only child of the late Burton and Muriel (Wolfe) Borst. Craig was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1960, and Moravian College, class of 1964. He earned his masters degrees in media education from West Chester University and history education from Kutztown University. Craig worked for the Boy Scouts of America, Philadelphia, and was an active member of the Army National Guard during that time. In 1967, he began his 30-year teaching career for Southern Lehigh School District, where he taught economics and mass media. Craig was the host of Community Spotlight on RCN for the past seven years and was Technology Coordinator at Moravian Academy from 1997 until 2003. Craig was a member of Edgeboro Moravian Church, Bethlehem, where he served as trustee and sacristan, taught adult mens Sunday school, helped organize breakfasts and helped bake sugar cakes. He was an active member of the Liberty Alumni Chorus. Craig was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Southern Lehigh High School in 2008 and was a basketball and football announcer. He was a member of the Seashore Trolley Museum, Kennebunkport, Maine, and the former Bethlehem Club.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Wendy E. Borst of Bethlehem; son, Andrew M. Borst of Ellington, Conn.; grandchildren, Abraham, Nora.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, Edgeboro Moravian Church, 645 Hamilton Ave., Bethlehem. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday in Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem.
