Donovan McNabb had the same reaction most fans had when the Philadelphia Eagles selected quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first pick in last month's NFL draft.

''It was shocking,'' McNabb said Tuesday in an interview on WIP-AM radio.

House members will vote Thursday on a new Iraq bill hotly contested by the White House, opposed by nearly all Republicans and unlikely to survive in the Senate. The bill would provide the military with $42.8 billion to keep operations going through July
